The Virginia Women Attorneys Association's Judicial Screening Committee together with the Virginia State Bar and other statewide bar associations will conduct interviews of applicants for the vacancy on the U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia occasioned by Judge Rebecca Beach Smith's taking senior status as of August 1, 2019. Interested candidates should visit www.kaine.senate.gov/eastern-district-judicial-vacancy to complete the application required by Senators Kaine and Warner. This application, with supporting documents, is due by or before August 28, 2019.
VWAA asks that candidates complete the VWAA Application and submit it with other materials to VWAA by or before September 6, 2019.
Interviews of applicants will take place on October 11, 2019 in Richmond, VA.
