Between October 10 and 11, 2019 the VWAA's Judicial Screening Committee interviewed seventeen candidates for the vacancy on the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, occasioned by Judge Rebecca Beach Smith's decision to take senior status as of August 1, 2019.
